Meadow Morning 2026

A lovely day to celebrate the meadow again this year, between heatwaves. As well as counting orchids and having tea and cake, we sat with the Merlin app and counted 20 species of bird in and around the meadow. Fledging long-tailed tits were beautiful to watch as they flew from the rose hedge to the silver birch in the middle of the meadow. They were serenaded by chiff chaffs and goldfinches!
